Saludos desde Leigh! / Greetings from Leigh!

Hola a todos! Escribo ya desde mi cama en Leigh, esa que much@s habéis probado (no "así", malpensados!) y desde la cual tengo acceso a Internet bastante momentos del día. Robada al vecino, por supuesto.
Bueno, la llegada fue dentro de lo esperado, ya conozco a una de mis nuevas compañeras de la casa. Se llama Johanna y es francesa, de 23 años, y parece bastante simpática. Aún no conozco a la "chica" australiana, porque está de viaje. Y digo "chica" porque tiene 52 años. Sí, sí, no me he equivocado en el orden de los números, es ése. Dicen que está bastante obsesionada con el orden, así que no sé qué tal me aguantará...
Ayer nos fuimos Charlie, Tifaine (su novia), Johanna y yo a tomar algo por Leigh, pero estamos todos como España, dentro de una crisis económica, así que este mes nos tendremos que moderar (o simplemente hacer más fiestas en casas y menos en clubes, jejeje). Esta noche ya tenemos una fiesta en casa de unos amigos. Esto es una bienvenida y lo demás son tonterías!

Hi everyone! I'm writing from my bed in Leigh, that bed many of you have tried (not "that" way, dirty minds!) and from which I have access to the Internet in many moments of the day. Stolen from the neighbour, of course.
Well, the arrival was as expected, I've already met one of my new housemates. She´s called Johanna, she's French, 23 years old, and she looks quite friendly. I still don't know the Australian "girl", because she's travelling. And I'm saying "girl" because she is 52 years old. Yeah, I know, but I haven't messed up the order of the numbers. They say she is quite obsessed with tidiness, so I don't know how well she's going to get on with me.
Yesterday Charlie, Tifaine (his girlfriend), Johanna and I went to have a drink in Leigh, but all of us are like Spain, in an economic crisis, so this month we'll have to control ourselves (or just have more parties in houses and fewer in clubs, lol). Tonight we have a party in some friends' house. That's a good welcoming!

Mi cumple!!! / My birthday!!!

Sólo quería publicar unas cuantas fotos que me ha mandado Laura de la celebración de mi cumpleaños el sábado pasado (aunque el cumpleaños es hoy! guiño, guiño). La semana anterior lo celebré con otro grupete de amigos, pero de eso no tengo fotos. Las dos fueron genial, y a las dos llegué después de haber dormido tres horas las noches anteriores. Aún así, fiesta, fiesta!!! Dispersaos!!! (esto último es de una serie inglesa, así que he puesto una traducción bastante libre aquí, jeje)

También he puesto un par de vídeos que me encantan, pero siempre que vayan juntos. En el primero, vemos el vídeoclip de Dover "Let me out". No está mal la canción. Eso sí, esperad a oír a la tía en directo, que es el siguiente vídeo. Y hasta aquí puedo leer...

I just wanted to publish some pictures of my birthday party last Saturday that Laura has sent me (althought my birthday is actually today! wink, wink). Last week I had another birthday party, with another group of friends, but I don't have any pictures of that one. Both of them were great, and in both of them I had slept only three hours the previous night. But still, party, party!!! Scatter!!! (glory be to Shameless)

I've also put a couple of videos I love, but only if they are together. In the first one, you can see Dover's clip for their song "Let me Out". The song is not bad. But then, listen to the woman singing live, which is the next video. And that's all I'll say...

Ordenando el local/ Tidying up our premises

Ayer tuvimos reunión de scouts para recoger el material y ordenar un poquito el local. La verdad es que no hicimos mucho, porque había poca gente, así que estuve a punto de considerar que había perdido la tarde. Y digo "estuve a punto" porque al final de la tarde probamos un nuevo método para ordenar. En uno de los locales encontramos una figura de madera bastante cutre que se iba a ir a la basura de cabeza, y José Pablo, uno de mis compañeros, tenía algo que es pieza fundamental en este nuevo método. No digo más, tan sólo que el vídeo se llama "Petardo scout".

Visto el éxito del método, en una reunión que hemos tenido hoy para preparar el proyecto educativo de grupo y por la cual he dormido sólo tres horas, el lugar de la figura de madera lo han ocupado de forma consecutiva los siguientes objetos: una sandalia vieja, una pelota de tenis, un mini brick de choleck lleno, un libro (nada grave, era "Sisi, reina de Hungría" o algo así), y una botella de agua envuelta en gomaespuma. Todo un éxito, si cuelgan los vídeos los pondré aquí también.


Yesterday, we had a meeting with the scouts to pick up the gear we used for the summer camp and to tidy up the premises. The truth is that we didn't do much, because there were just a few people, so I was about to consider it had been a wasted evening. And I say "I was about" because at the end of the evening we tried a new tidying method. In one of the rooms we found a wooden figure which was going straight to the bin, and Jose Pablo, one of my mates, had something with him that is a very important part of this method. I won't say anything else, just that the video is called "scout firecracker".
In a meeting we've had today to prepare the scout group's educational project (and because of which I've only slept three hours), and after seeing the new method's success, the place of the wooden figure was taken consecutively by the following objects: an old sandal, a tennis ball, a milkshake carton, a book (nothing serious, it was "Sisi, queen of Hungary" or something like that), and a water bottle wrapped with foam rubber. A big success, if they upload the videos I'll put them here too.

Acabo de ver este vídeo en Internet (recomendación de mi madre) y me ha parecido cojonudo. Cómo se puede ser tan patosa!!! Si es que estos "periodistas" del corazón... jajaja.

En cuanto a la recomendacion musical, esta vez se trata de una canción sacada de lo que viene a ser mi trilogía musical favorita (porque no es un grupo): Avantasia. Tobias Sammet, cantante de Edguy, coge a muchos de los mejores músicos de metal del mundo y los junta para hacer una ópera de metal. Esta canción es una versión de un clasicazo de Abba, Lay all your love on me.


I've just seen this video on the Internet (my mum's recommendation) and I think it's just fucking great. How can anyone be so clumsy!!! This gossip "journalists"... lol. The woman has gone to interview the author of the sand castle, who had spent 17 days making it, and she has the great idea of standing on a small cool box. I'll leave the rest for you to see it.

As for the musical recommendation, this time it's a song taken from my favourite musical trilogy (it's not a band): Avantasia. Tobias Sammet, Edguy's singer, takes many of the best musicians of heavy metal in the world and puts them together to make a metal opera. This song is a version of a famous song by Abba, Lay all your love on me.
