Cuánto tiempo!, diréis / Long time!, you must think

Buenas a todos! Sé que hace siglos que no escribo, pero es que me da una pereza... Prometo intentar ser más constante a partir de ahora. La verdad es que si no escribo, es porque tampoco hay tanta novedad que contar.

El fin de semana que fui a ver la semifinal de squash (el primero del mundo contra el cuarto, pero ganó el cuarto, qué pasada de deporte el squash!) me saqué la tarjeta para poder ver partidos del Manchester City, y a primeros de diciembre me voy a ver el M.City-Paris Saint Germain de la UEFA. Sí, ya sé lo que pensaréis, teniendo el United y el Liverpool cerca, vas y te sacas la del City. Bueno, dejo en vuestras manos el intentar conseguir entradas para alguno de los otros dos. Suerte!!!

También cobré por fin el tan esperado sueldo del primer mes... sólo que me dieron 235 libras menos de las que me correspondían. La explicación que me han dado es que es un "pago de emergencia" y que recibiré el dinero que no me han pagado junto con el segundo sueldo a finales de noviembre. Menos mal que mi casera es un cielo (loca, pero un cielo) y me ha dejado pagarle el alquiler de dos meses en cuanto cobre. Si no, tendría 50 libras para todo el mes, contando comida y ocio. Aún así, tengo que apretarme el cinturón.

El fin de semana que viene celebramos aquí el Halloween, y por todo disfraz me he comprado una máscara estilo Jason Voorhees, pero como no tengo la camiseta de hockey correspondiente, este Halloween Jason va a ser fan de los Wigan Warriors, jajajaja. En fin, lo importante es disfrazarse. Para lo que no sepáis quién es Jason Voorhees, abajo tenéis la foto, pero qué poca vergüenza! Feliz Halloween a todo el mundo! (y a los más heavies, feliz Helloween!)

Hi everyone! I know it's been ages since I wrote for the last time, but I feel so lazy... I promise I'll try to be more constant from now on. The truth is also that I don't write very often because there's not so much to say.

The weekend I went to the Squash semifinals (first player in the world against the fourth, although the fourth won, what a great game squash is!) I took the card to be able to watch Manchester City's matches, and in the beginning of December I'm going to see M.City - Paris Saint Germain of the UEFA Cup. I know that many of you will think that I could have taken the one of M. United or of Liverpool, instead of taking the one for Manchester City. Ok, I'll let you try and get tickets to watch any of those... Good luck!!!

I also got the so-long expected first salary... and I was paid 235 pounds less than I should have. The explanation they've given to me is that it is an "emergency payment" and that I'll get the what they didn't pay this time added to the next salary at the end of November. Fortunately, my landlady is great (crazy, but great) and has allowed me to pay the rent of two months as soon as I get paid. If not, I would have had 50 pounds for the whole month, including food and leisure. However, I still have to tighten my belt.

This weekend is Halloween, and all I've bought as a fancy dress is a Jason Voorhees-style mask, but since I don't have the hockey shirt, this Halloween Jason is going to be a fan of Wigan Warriors, lol. Anyway, the important thing is to dress up. For those of you who don't know who Jason Voorhees is, you've got the picture here, but shame on you! Happy Halloween to everyone! Nada del otro mundo / Nothing special

Como bien dice el título de esta entrada, no hay nada nuevo que resaltar, la verdad. La semana pasada tuvimos una fiesta, para variar, pero de esa no tengo fotos todavía ni nada. Ese mismo sábado dijimos adiós a Céline, porque se ha mudado a Salford, justo al lado de Manchester, así que ahora quedamos Johanna, Jane (la mujer australiana), Charlie y yo.

Igual es porque he visto como está Céline en Manchester ahora y eso, pero cada vez estoy más harto de vivir en este puto pueblo, y me estoy planteando mudarme cuando tenga algo de dinero ahorrado. Quizás sea sólo el puntazo de esta semana, pero es una posibilidad. También el hecho de que los que van a ser mis compañeros de casa todo el año estén "comprometidos" y se vayan a ver a los respectiv@s cada dos por tres, y cuando no los respectiv@s estén aquí, es un poco triste. Ya veremos...

Por cierto, que estoy haciendo traducciones ya para el consulado español, hice una el miércoles y a lo mejor me sale otra.

Por último, mañana por la mañana me voy a ver una semifinal del mundial de squash, aquí en Manchester (bueno, allí en Manchester). Hasta aquí las novedades por hoy.

As the heading says, there's nothing special to say, to be honest. Last week we had a party, for a change, but I don't have any pictures of that one. That very same Saturday we said goodbye to Céline, because she's moved to Salford, so in Leigh there's only Johanna, Charlie, Jane (the Australian woman) and me.

Maybe it's because I saw Céline in Manchester now, but every day I'm more fed up with this fucking town, Leigh, and I'm thinking of moving as soon as I've got money. Perhaps it's only this week's crazy idea, but it's a possibility. The fact that my roommates for the rest of the year are "engaged" and they go and visit their "fiancé(e)s" every now and again, and if not, they bring them home, is a bit sad, too. Anyway, we'll see...

By the way, I'm doing translations for the Spanish consulate, I finished one on Wednesday and I might have another one soon.

To end with, tomorrow morning I'm going to watch one of the semifinals of the squash world championship, here in Manchester (well, there in Manchester). That's everything for today.

Resumen de fiestas / Party summary

Hola a todos! Despues de mucho tiempo sin dar senyales de vida, aqui estoy otra vez.

La verdad es que las cosas van practicamente como el anyo pasado, sin trabajar mucho, fiesta cada fin de semana, y ese tipo de cosas. Ahora mismo ya no tengo Internet desde mi cama, pero hemos encontrado diferentes sitios para poder conectarnos a ratos. Uno de ellos es el jardin, pero ya se sabe, Inglaterra=lluvia, y lluvia + ordenador= mala idea, asi que hemos tenido que buscar otro. Y resulta que hay uno que va a menudo: el banyo. Lo que pasa es que se me hace un poco raro tener que sentarme en el vater para usar el ordenador, pero bueno...

El sabado despues de que escribiera aqui nos pegamos una fiesta de las buenas. Eso si, al dia siguiente... resacon! La gente por aqui dice que este anyo va a ser mas calmado, pero mi tarea es evitar que eso suceda, y en ello estoy, jeje. Por lo demas, ya he empezado a "trabajar" y ahi tampoco cambia nada.

El jueves, los asistentes de Leigh nos fuimos a un pub que hay cerca de mi cole para tomar unas pintas y participar en lo que llaman "the quiz". Es un concurso de preguntas y respuestas que tiene cada pub semanalmente. Quedamos ultimos, pero bueno, lo importante es participar, jejeje.

Y el sabado, otra vez fiesta. Aunque fue mas tranquilita, lo cierto es que tuvo momentos interesantes. Os pongo un video de Nick tocando la gaita al mas puro estilo de Ross en Friends. Cuidado con los oidos! (esto no cuenta como recomendacion musical).

Hi everyone! After some time without writing here, I'm back.

The truth is that things are going just as last year, not working a lot, party every weekend, and that sort of things. I don't have Internet connection from my bed any more, but we've found other places to get it sometimes. One of those places is the garden, but you know, England=rain, and rain + computer= bad idea, so we had to look for another place. And it turns out that there is one that often works: the bathroom. The problem is that I feel quite weird sitting on the toilet just to get the connection, but still...

The Saturday after I wrote here we had a big party! Next day, though... hangover!!! People say this year is going to be quieter than the last one, but my task here is to prevent that from happening, and I'm trying hard. As for the rest of things, I've started "working" and there nothing changes, either.

On Thursday, we (the assistans from Leigh) went to a pub near my school to take some pints and take part in the quiz. We were last, but playing is what matters, isn't it?

On Saturcay, party again. Although it was quieter this time, it had interesting moments. Here you have a video of Nick playing the bagpipes, just like Ross does in Friends. Be careful with your ears! (This doesn't count as musical recommendation).
